Celebrating Passover: A Reflection on the Significance of Remembering Christ

In our journey of faith, embracing the feasts of the LORD that hold profound spiritual meaning allows us to connect more deeply with the roots of our beliefs. One such timeless feast is Passover, a feast celebrated for centuries by the early church community and one that holds immense relevance for His people today.

Understanding Passover: A Brief Overview

Passover is a  feast of the LORD commemorating the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. As priests, we recognize the deeper spiritual significance of this feast, understanding that it foreshadowed the ultimate liberation from the slavery of sin through the sacrifice of Christ.

 1. Symbolism of the Lamb:
Passover involves the sacrifice of a lamb, symbolizing Christ, the Lamb of God, whose blood was shed for our redemption.

   Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us." (1 Corinthians 5:7)

 2. The Blood of the Covenant:
  Passover underscores the importance of the blood applied to the doorposts, signifying protection and salvation.
 

"And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it." (Exodus 12:7)
